CVE-2026-93433: Libstoragemgmt: libstoragemgmt: denial of service via stack buffer overflow in scsi vpd page parsing
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 22/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.15% (FIRST EPSS).
- Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: azl3 libical 3.0.10-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 libical 3.0.10-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was found in libstoragemgmt. An attacker with control over a local or virtual storage device could provide specially crafted SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) Vital Product Data (VPD) page 0x80 data. This malformed data, specifically an untrusted page length field, can lead to a stack buffer overflow in the `_sg_parse_vpd_80()` function during serial number parsing. Successful exploitation could result in a denial of service by crashing or destabilizing the process querying the serial number.
