Libsoup: out-of-bounds read in libsoup websocket frame processing
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 19/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.38% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
- Fixed version: azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-12 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-13; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-14; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-10 on CBL Mariner 2.0 3.0.4-12.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-12 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-13; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-14; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-10 on CBL Mariner 2.0 3.0.4-12 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was found in libsoup’s WebSocket frame processing when handling incoming messages. If a non-default configuration is used where the maximum incoming payload size is unset, the library may read memory outside the intended bounds. This can cause unintended memory exposure or a crash. Applications using libsoup’s WebSocket support with this configuration may be impacted.
