CVE-2026-14476: Sssd: sssd: gpo cache path traversal via unsanitized gpcfilesyspath allows kerberos authentication bypass
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 32/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.66% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 51.9% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. Administrator privileges are required. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
- Fixed version: libipa_hbac (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1; libsss_autofs (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1; libsss_certmap (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to libipa_hbac (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1; libsss_autofs (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1; libsss_certmap (AlmaLinux:10) 2.12.0-3.el10_2.1 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A path traversal flaw was found in SSSD's AD GPO provider. The ad_gpo_extract_smb_components() function does not sanitize .. sequences in the gPCFileSysPath LDAP attribute, allowing an attacker with AD GPO management access to write files outside the GPO cache directory as root. On default RHEL configurations with SELinux enforcing, this can be used to inject Kerberos configuration leading to authentication bypass.
