Libsoup: libsoup: header and http request injection via crlf injection
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 26/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.38% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-16 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-17 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-13 on CBL-Mariner 2.0 Release Notes.
- Severity is disputed: the assigning authority (CNA) scores it 3.9, NVD 6.5.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-16 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-17 on Azure Linux 3.0 Release Notes; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-13 on CBL-Mariner 2.0 Release Notes or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was found in libsoup. A remote attacker, by controlling the method parameter of the `soup_message_new()` function, could inject arbitrary headers and additional request data. This vulnerability, known as CRLF (Carriage Return Line Feed) injection, occurs because the method value is not properly escaped during request line construction, potentially leading to HTTP request injection.
