Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 39/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.73% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 53.4% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: imagemagick (Debian:11) 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3+deb11u6; imagemagick (Debian:12) 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.6+deb12u4; imagemagick (Debian:13) 8:7.1.1.43+dfsg1-1+deb13u1.
- Severity is disputed: the assigning authority (CNA) scores it 3.7, NVD 9.8.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to imagemagick (Debian:11) 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.3+deb11u6; imagemagick (Debian:12) 8:6.9.11.60+dfsg-1.6+deb12u4; imagemagick (Debian:13) 8:7.1.1.43+dfsg1-1+deb13u1 or later.

ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Versions prior to 7.1.2-0 and 6.9.13-26 have a heap buffer overflow in the `InterpretImageFilename` function. The issue stems from an off-by-one error that causes out-of-bounds memory access when processing format strings containing consecutive percent signs (`%%`). Versions 7.1.2-0 and 6.9.13-26 fix the issue.
