CVE-2025-4760: Authenticated Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in Multiple WSO2 Products via API Document Upload in Publisher

Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 19/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.18% (FIRST EPSS).
  • Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. Administrator privileges are required. A user must open a link or visit a page. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
  • Fixed version: org.wso2.carbon.apimgt:org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.api (Maven) 9.31.117; org.wso2.carbon.apimgt:org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.rest.api.publisher.v1 (Maven) 9.31.117.

Low priority for now. Upgrade to org.wso2.carbon.apimgt:org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.api (Maven) 9.31.117; org.wso2.carbon.apimgt:org.wso2.carbon.apimgt.rest.api.publisher.v1 (Maven) 9.31.117 or later.

Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

An authenticated stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper validation of user-supplied input during API document upload in the Publisher portal. A user with publisher privileges can upload a crafted API document containing malicious JavaScript, which is later rendered in the browser when accessed by other users. A successful attack could result in redirection to malicious websites, unauthorized UI modifications, or exfiltration of browser-accessible data. However, session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag, preventing session hijacking.
