Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 23/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.35% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
- Fixed version: web.mit.edu/kerberos/ krb5 1.22; azl3 krb5 1.21.3-2 on Azure Linux 3.0 CBL-Mariner Releases; cbl2 krb5 1.19.4-3 on CBL Mariner 2.0 1.19.4-4.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to web.mit.edu/kerberos/ krb5 1.22; azl3 krb5 1.21.3-2 on Azure Linux 3.0 CBL-Mariner Releases; cbl2 krb5 1.19.4-3 on CBL Mariner 2.0 1.19.4-4 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A vulnerability in the MIT Kerberos implementation allows GSSAPI-protected messages using RC4-HMAC-MD5 to be spoofed due to weaknesses in the MD5 checksum design. If RC4 is preferred over stronger encryption types, an attacker could exploit MD5 collisions to forge message integrity codes. This may lead to unauthorized message tampering.
