CVE-2026-98111: Bluetooth: btintel: validate version TLV value lengths

Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 28/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.12% (FIRST EPSS).
  • Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
  • Fixed version: Linux Linux 5ec43df2830b73e004147303bf7914ca884d6770, 76948d207d0978a613ce06a05cba07284a5578a7, 83499ac3ca62e43ed40f7574b13ed398a6891511; azl3 kernel 6.6.157.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.158.1-1.
  • Mentioned 1 time in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).

Low priority for now. Upgrade to Linux Linux 5ec43df2830b73e004147303bf7914ca884d6770, 76948d207d0978a613ce06a05cba07284a5578a7, 83499ac3ca62e43ed40f7574b13ed398a6891511; azl3 kernel 6.6.157.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.158.1-1 or later.

Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel: validate version TLV value lengths btintel_parse_version_tlv() verifies that a complete TLV is present in the response, but it does not ensure that the value is long enough for the specific TLV type. A short value can therefore cause an out-of-bounds read through get_unaligned_le16(), get_unaligned_le32(), or memcpy(). Reject values shorter than the minimum required by each known TLV type. Also reject responses that do not contain the Command Complete Status field.
