CVE-2026-53329: drm/amd/display: Use krealloc_array() in dal_vector_reserve()

Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 28/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.14% (FIRST EPSS).
  • Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
  • Fixed version: Linux Linux 201151e120f0062bcda21cad5d007b82725ad23b, 31180638a33acad12c863132704a76536fb66211, 9540b0a4d13e4ede64ae1197d66a176d2149daa9; azl3 kernel 6.6.139.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.143.1-1.
  • Mentioned 1 time in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).

Low priority for now. Upgrade to Linux Linux 201151e120f0062bcda21cad5d007b82725ad23b, 31180638a33acad12c863132704a76536fb66211, 9540b0a4d13e4ede64ae1197d66a176d2149daa9; azl3 kernel 6.6.139.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.143.1-1 or later.

Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Use krealloc_array() in dal_vector_reserve() [Why & How] dal_vector_reserve() computes the allocation size as "capacity * vector->struct_size" using uint32_t arithmetic, which can silently wrap to a small value on overflow. This would cause krealloc to return a smaller buffer than expected, leading to heap overflows on subsequent vector appends. Replace krealloc() with krealloc_array() which performs an internal overflow check and returns NULL on wrap, preventing the issue.
