Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 28/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.16% (FIRST EPSS).
  • Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
  • Fixed version: Linux Linux 12cc6e8f8d4245b7b5a408c6fc8ab1d098d67020, 209644e25757c499e1c1f08c071ea0386d4448b6, 4dd2d9cf563c54e09d5f7eacf95c5b8f538b513b.
  • Mentioned 1 time in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).

Low priority for now. Upgrade to Linux Linux 12cc6e8f8d4245b7b5a408c6fc8ab1d098d67020, 209644e25757c499e1c1f08c071ea0386d4448b6, 4dd2d9cf563c54e09d5f7eacf95c5b8f538b513b or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix potential out-of-bounds read in rtw_restruct_wmm_ie The current code checks 'i + 5 < in_len' at the end of the if statement. However, it accesses 'in_ie[i + 5]' before that check, which can lead to an out-of-bounds read. Move the length check to the beginning of the conditional to ensure the index is within bounds before accessing the array.

Variant candidates

Same product, same weakness class, within 18 months. If the patch missed the root cause, the sibling bug is here.

No nightly-computed relations.

Chain candidates

An authentication bypass and a privilege-requiring bug in the same product, published close together: combined they may become an unauthenticated path.
