Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 23/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.95% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 61.4% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
- Fixed version: azl3 libxml2 2.11.5-8 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.11.5-9; azl3 libxml2 2.11.5-9 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.11.5-9; cbl2 libxml2 2.10.4-10 on CBL Mariner 2.0 2.10.4-10.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 libxml2 2.11.5-8 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.11.5-9; azl3 libxml2 2.11.5-9 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.11.5-9; cbl2 libxml2 2.10.4-10 on CBL Mariner 2.0 2.10.4-10 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was found in libxml2, an XML parsing library. This uncontrolled recursion vulnerability occurs in the xmlCatalogXMLResolveURI function when an XML catalog contains a delegate URI entry that references itself. A remote attacker could exploit this configuration-dependent issue by providing a specially crafted XML catalog, leading to infinite recursion and call stack exhaustion. This ultimately results in a segmentation fault, causing a Denial of Service (DoS) by crashing affected applications.
