CVE-2024-27008: drm: nv04: Fix out of bounds access
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 31/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.29% (FIRST EPSS).
- Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: Linux Linux 097c7918fcfa1dee233acfd1f3029f00c3bc8062, 26212da39ee14a52c76a202c6ae5153a84f579a5, 5050ae879a828d752b439e3827aac126709da6d1.
- Mentioned 1 time in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).
Low priority for now. Upgrade to Linux Linux 097c7918fcfa1dee233acfd1f3029f00c3bc8062, 26212da39ee14a52c76a202c6ae5153a84f579a5, 5050ae879a828d752b439e3827aac126709da6d1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm: nv04: Fix out of bounds access When Output Resource (dcb->or) value is assigned in fabricate_dcb_output(), there may be out of bounds access to dac_users array in case dcb->or is zero because ffs(dcb->or) is used as index there. The 'or' argument of fabricate_dcb_output() must be interpreted as a number of bit to set, not value. Utilize macros from 'enum nouveau_or' in calls instead of hardcoding. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

No credits in the CNA record.
Variant candidates
Same product, same weakness class, within 18 months. If the patch missed the root cause, the sibling bug is here.
No nightly-computed relations.
Chain candidates
An authentication bypass and a privilege-requiring bug in the same product, published close together: combined they may become an unauthenticated path.
