udp: fix potential use-after-free in tunnel segmentation

Noroxi assessment

Priority: Plan (action score 40/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.50% (FIRST EPSS).
  • Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
  • According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
  • Fixed version: Linux Linux 19d89b13a43640b2da2f277ee462d919d988cb6f, 1ae134c012e10384cdac420b5cc6e0615cde0b55, 5161e67c561c4f28a5d9335a6e859b02511de92b; azl3 kernel 6.6.150.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.152.1-1.
  • Mentioned 1 time in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).

Add it to your regular patch cycle. Upgrade to Linux Linux 19d89b13a43640b2da2f277ee462d919d988cb6f, 1ae134c012e10384cdac420b5cc6e0615cde0b55, 5161e67c561c4f28a5d9335a6e859b02511de92b; azl3 kernel 6.6.150.1-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 6.6.152.1-1 or later.

Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: fix potential use-after-free in tunnel segmentation __skb_udp_tunnel_segment() gets the UDP header before ensuring the tunnel header is in the skb head. If the pull reallocates skb->head, the saved UDP header pointer is no longer valid. Get the UDP header after the pull to avoid a potential use-after-free.
