PasswordPusher before v2.9.6 Authentication Bypass via Null Comparison
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 27/100)
- A ready-made attack module is public (Nuclei); exploiting it takes no special expertise.
- Public proof-of-concept code exists (Exploit-DB / GitHub); there is no record of exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 1.1% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 65.8% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: pglombardo PasswordPusher 2.9.6.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to pglombardo PasswordPusher 2.9.6 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
PasswordPusher versions v1.45.11 through v2.9.5 contain an improper authorization vulnerability in the push deletion logic. The ownership check compares @push.user against current_user; for an anonymously created push both values are nil, and Ruby evaluates nil == nil as true, so the check passes and the deletable_by_viewer restriction is never enforced. An attacker who knows only the secret URL can permanently delete an anonymous push even when the creator disabled viewer deletion and even without the passphrase. Only deployments that allow anonymous pushes (the default) are affected. The issue is fixed in v2.9.6.
