CVE-2026-5720: miniupnpd Integer Underflow SOAPAction Header Parsing
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 28/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.67% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 52.2% of all records.
- Someone on the same network segment can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: miniupnp project miniupnpd 2.3.10.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to miniupnp project miniupnpd 2.3.10 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
miniupnpd contains an integer underflow vulnerability in SOAPAction header parsing that allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or information disclosure by sending a malformed SOAPAction header with a single quote. Attackers can trigger an out-of-bounds memory read by exploiting improper length validation in ParseHttpHeaders(), where the parsed length underflows to a large unsigned value when passed to memchr(), causing the process to scan memory far beyond the allocated HTTP request buffer.
