Ovn: ovn: information disclosure via crafted dhcpv6 packets
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 34/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.87% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 58.3% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: ovn (Debian:14) 26.03.0-4; openvswitch (openSUSE:Leap 16.0) 3.5.4-160000.4.1; openvswitch (openSUSE:Tumbleweed) 3.7.1-34.1.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to ovn (Debian:14) 26.03.0-4; openvswitch (openSUSE:Leap 16.0) 3.5.4-160000.4.1; openvswitch (openSUSE:Tumbleweed) 3.7.1-34.1 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was found in OVN (Open Virtual Network). A remote attacker, by sending crafted DHCPv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6) SOLICIT packets with an inflated Client ID length, could cause the ovn-controller to read beyond the bounds of a packet. This out-of-bounds read can lead to the disclosure of sensitive information stored in heap memory, which is then returned to the attacker's virtual machine port.
