CVE-2026-39832: Invoking agent constraints dropped when forwarding keys in golang.org/x/crypto/ssh/agent
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 36/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.68% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 52.6% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: golang.org/x/crypto golang.org/x/crypto/ssh/agent 0.52.0; azl3 docker-buildx 0.14.0-11 on Azure Linux 3.0 0.14.0-13; azl3 docker-compose 2.27.0-9 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.27.0-11.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to golang.org/x/crypto golang.org/x/crypto/ssh/agent 0.52.0; azl3 docker-buildx 0.14.0-11 on Azure Linux 3.0 0.14.0-13; azl3 docker-compose 2.27.0-9 on Azure Linux 3.0 2.27.0-11 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
When adding a key to a remote agent constraint extensions such as restrict-destination-v00@openssh.com were not serialized in the request. Destination restrictions were silently stripped when forwarding keys, allowing unrestricted use of the key on the remote host. The client now serializes all constraint extensions. Additionally, the in-memory keyring returned by NewKeyring() now rejects keys with unsupported constraint extensions instead of silently ignoring them.

Root cause
Data received over the network is deserialized into the language’s native object format without verifying its source. Code paths inside the object can be triggered during deserialization.
