CVE-2026-27587: Caddy: MatchPath %xx (escaped-path) branch skips case normalization, enabling path-based route/auth bypass
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 30/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.42% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: caddy (Debian:12) 2.6.2-5+deb12u1; caddy (Debian:13) 2.6.2-12+deb13u1; caddy (Debian:14) 2.11.2-1.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to caddy (Debian:12) 2.6.2-5+deb12u1; caddy (Debian:13) 2.6.2-12+deb13u1; caddy (Debian:14) 2.11.2-1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. Prior to version 2.11.1, Caddy's HTTP `path` request matcher is intended to be case-insensitive, but when the match pattern contains percent-escape sequences (`%xx`) it compares against the request's escaped path without lowercasing. An attacker can bypass path-based routing and any access controls attached to that route by changing the casing of the request path. Version 2.11.1 contains a fix for the issue.
