CVE-2026-26017: CoreDNS is a DNS server that chains plugins.
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 25/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.40% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
- Fixed version: coredns coredns 1.14.2; azl3 coredns 1.11.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 1.11.4-15; cbl2 coredns 1.11.1-25 on CBL Mariner 2.0 1.11.1-26.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to coredns coredns 1.14.2; azl3 coredns 1.11.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 1.11.4-15; cbl2 coredns 1.11.1-25 on CBL Mariner 2.0 1.11.1-26 or later.

CoreDNS is a DNS server that chains plugins. Prior to version 1.14.2, a logical vulnerability in CoreDNS allows DNS access controls to be bypassed due to the default execution order of plugins. Security plugins such as acl are evaluated before the rewrite plugin, resulting in a Time-of-Check Time-of-Use (TOCTOU) flaw. This issue has been patched in version 1.14.2.
