CVE-2026-2443: Libsoup: out-of-bounds read in libsoup handle_partial_get() leading to heap information disclosure
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 21/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.48% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-12 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-13; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-14; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-13 on CBL Mariner 2.0 3.0.4-14.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-12 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-13; azl3 libsoup 3.4.4-14 on Azure Linux 3.0 3.4.4-14; cbl2 libsoup 3.0.4-13 on CBL Mariner 2.0 3.0.4-14 or later.
Generated automatically from the record's data: CVSS (NVD and CNA), CISA KEV and SSVC, FIRST EPSS, exploit sources, fixed versions. How we calculate it
Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
A flaw was identified in libsoup, a widely used HTTP library in GNOME-based systems. When processing specially crafted HTTP Range headers, the library may improperly validate requested byte ranges. In certain build configurations, this could allow a remote attacker to access portions of server memory beyond the intended response. Exploitation requires a vulnerable configuration and access to a server using the embedded SoupServer component.
