CVE-2025-67733: Valkey Affected by RESP Protocol Injection via Lua error_reply
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 28/100)
- Public proof-of-concept code exists (GitHub); there is no record of exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.64% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 50.8% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: azl3 valkey 8.0.6-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 8.0.7-1.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to azl3 valkey 8.0.6-1 on Azure Linux 3.0 8.0.7-1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
Valkey is a distributed key-value database. Prior to versions 9.0.2, 8.1.6, 8.0.7, and 7.2.12, a malicious user can use scripting commands to inject arbitrary information into the response stream for the given client, potentially corrupting or returning tampered data to other users on the same connection. The error handling code for lua scripts does not properly handle null characters. Versions 9.0.2, 8.1.6, 8.0.7, and 7.2.12 fix the issue.
