Nextcloud Server admin_audit does not log all actions on files in groupfolders
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 17/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.31% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- No fixed version is recorded, but the references include a patch (commit or PR) link.
Low priority for now. See the fix and affected versions sections below.

Nextcloud Server is a self hosted personal cloud system. In Nextcloud Server and Enterprise Server prior to 30.0.9 and 31.0.1, incorrect path handling with groupfolders caused the admin_audit app to not properly log all actions on files and folders inside groupfolders. This vulnerability is fixed in Nextcloud Server and Enterprise Server prior to 30.0.9 and 31.0.1.
