Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 18/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.76% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 55.6% of all records.
  • Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. Administrator privileges are required. A user must open a link or visit a page. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
  • Fixed version: Azure Linux 3.0 ARM 20.14.0-1; Azure Linux 3.0 x64 20.14.0-1.

Low priority for now. Upgrade to Azure Linux 3.0 ARM 20.14.0-1; Azure Linux 3.0 x64 20.14.0-1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

Undici is an HTTP/1.1 client, written from scratch for Node.js. Undici already cleared Authorization headers on cross-origin redirects, but did not clear `Proxy-Authentication` headers. This issue has been patched in versions 5.28.3 and 6.6.1. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.

Root cause

The extension requests broader permissions than its function needs and sends the data it collects out for purposes beyond its stated function.

A representative example of this vulnerability class. Not the vendor's source code; it shows the faulty pattern and its fix.
