CVE-2023-34097: Database password exposed in logs in hoppscotch
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 35/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.68% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 52.2% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- No fixed version is recorded, but the references include a patch (commit or PR) link.
Low priority for now. See the fix and affected versions sections below.

hoppscotch is an open source API development ecosystem. In versions prior to 2023.4.5 the database password is exposed in the logs when showing the database connection string. Attackers with access to read system logs will be able to elevate privilege with full access to the database. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
