CVE-2022-4098: Wiesemann & Theis: Multiple products prone to missing authentication through spoofing
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 32/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.34% (FIRST EPSS).
- Someone on the same network segment can trigger it. No account or password is required. A user must open a link or visit a page. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server ++ 1.55; Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server 20mA 1.55; Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server Highspeed 100BaseFX 1.78.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server ++ 1.55; Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server 20mA 1.55; Wiesemann & Theis Com-Server Highspeed 100BaseFX 1.78 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
Multiple Wiesemann&Theis products of the ComServer Series are prone to an authentication bypass through IP spoofing. After a user logged in to the WBM of the Com-Server an unauthenticated attacker in the same subnet can obtain the session ID and through IP spoofing change arbitrary settings by crafting modified HTTP Get requests. This may result in a complete takeover of the device.

No nightly-computed relations.
Chain candidates
An authentication bypass and a privilege-requiring bug in the same product, published close together: combined they may become an unauthenticated path.
