Priority: Monitor (action score 31/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.67% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 51.8% of all records.
- Someone with local access to the system can trigger it. A low-privileged account is enough. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: ansiblerole-insights-client (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:1.6-1.el7sat; createrepo_c (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:0.7.4-1.el7sat; createrepo_c-debuginfo (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:0.7.4-1.el7sat.
- Severity is disputed: the assigning authority (CNA) scores it 5.5, NVD 7.8.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to ansiblerole-insights-client (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:1.6-1.el7sat; createrepo_c (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:0.7.4-1.el7sat; createrepo_c-debuginfo (Red Hat:satellite_capsule:6.5::el7) 0:0.7.4-1.el7sat or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
It was discovered that a world-readable log file belonging to Candlepin component of Red Hat Satellite 6.4 leaked the credentials of the Candlepin database. A malicious user with local access to a Satellite host can use those credentials to modify the database and prevent Satellite from fetching package updates, thus preventing all Satellite hosts from accessing those updates.
