Noroxi assessment

Priority: Monitor (action score 33/100)

  • The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
  • Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 2.2% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 82.5% of all records.
  • Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. Special conditions such as timing or configuration are required.
  • Fixed version: rust (Alpine:v3.19) 1.34.2-r0; rust (openSUSE:Leap 15.1) 1.36.0-lp151.5.8.1, 1.36.0-lp151.5.4.2, 1.36.0-lp151.5.4.1; rust-cbindgen (openSUSE:Leap 15.1) 0.8.7-lp151.2.2, 0.8.7-lp151.5.2.

Low priority for now. Upgrade to rust (Alpine:v3.19) 1.34.2-r0; rust (openSUSE:Leap 15.1) 1.36.0-lp151.5.8.1, 1.36.0-lp151.5.4.2, 1.36.0-lp151.5.4.1; rust-cbindgen (openSUSE:Leap 15.1) 0.8.7-lp151.2.2, 0.8.7-lp151.5.2 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS

The Rust Programming Language Standard Library 1.34.x before 1.34.2 contains a stabilized method which, if overridden, can violate Rust's safety guarantees and cause memory unsafety. If the `Error::type_id` method is overridden then any type can be safely cast to any other type, causing memory safety vulnerabilities in safe code (e.g., out-of-bounds write or read). Code that does not manually implement Error::type_id is unaffected.
