CVE-2007-1387· NVD / CVE Program· CNA canonical

The DirectShow loader (loader/dshow/DS_VideoDecoder.c) in MPlayer 1.0rc1 and earlier, as used in xine-lib, does not set the biSize before us

The DirectShow loader (loader/dshow/DS_VideoDecoder.c) in MPlayer 1.0rc1 and earlier, as used in xine-lib, does not set the biSize before use in a memcpy, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to cause a buffer overflow and possibly execute arbitrary code, a different vulnerability than CVE-2007-1246.

Variant candidates

Same product, same weakness class, within 18 months. If the patch missed the root cause, the sibling bug is here.

No nightly-computed relations.

Chain candidates

An authentication bypass and a privilege-requiring bug in the same product, published close together: combined they may become an unauthenticated path.
