temporalio/tchannel-go zero-chunk call fragment causes process termination
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 34/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.71% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 52.9% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. No user action is required. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- According to CISA the attack is automatable: targets can be found by mass scanning.
- Fixed version: Temporal Technologies, Inc. temporalio/tchannel-go 1.22.1-0.20260720194454-0cb017f6870a.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to Temporal Technologies, Inc. temporalio/tchannel-go 1.22.1-0.20260720194454-0cb017f6870a or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
github.com/temporalio/tchannel-go did not reject TChannel call fragments containing checksum metadata but no length-prefixed argument chunks. The fragment reader left its chunk slice empty and then unconditionally selected the first element. A network peer can supply such a malformed call fragment, including as a direct initial call request after completing the standard initialization handshake. On that inbound path, the resulting unrecovered Go slice-bounds panic occurs on a library-created dispatch goroutine and terminates the hosting process. This allows remote denial of service against applications that expose the listener to untrusted peers. The impact is limited to availability; no confidentiality or integrity impact was identified.
