An OpenPGP digital signature includes information about the date when the signature was created.
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 26/100)
- The sources we track (CISA KEV, Exploit-DB, Metasploit, Nuclei, GitHub) show no public exploit code or exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 0.42% (FIRST EPSS).
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. A user must open a link or visit a page. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: thunderbird (AlmaLinux:9) 91.11.0-2.el9_0.alma; thunderbird (Debian:10) 1:91.11.0-1~deb10u1; thunderbird (Debian:11) 1:91.11.0-1~deb11u1.
- Mentioned 4 times in Turkish national cyber security advisories (siberguvenlik.gov.tr).
Low priority for now. Upgrade to thunderbird (AlmaLinux:9) 91.11.0-2.el9_0.alma; thunderbird (Debian:10) 1:91.11.0-1~deb10u1; thunderbird (Debian:11) 1:91.11.0-1~deb11u1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
An OpenPGP digital signature includes information about the date when the signature was created. When displaying an email that contains a digital signature, the email's date will be shown. If the dates were different, then Thunderbird didn't report the email as having an invalid signature. If an attacker performed a replay attack, in which an old email with old contents are resent at a later time, it could lead the victim to believe that the statements in the email are current. Fixed versions of Thunderbird will require that the signature's date roughly matches the displayed date of the email. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 102 and Thunderbird < 91.11.

Variant candidates
Same product, same weakness class, within 18 months. If the patch missed the root cause, the sibling bug is here.
No nightly-computed relations.
Chain candidates
An authentication bypass and a privilege-requiring bug in the same product, published close together: combined they may become an unauthenticated path.
