CSRF issue on preview pages in Bolt CMS
Noroxi assessment
Priority: Monitor (action score 18/100)
- Public proof-of-concept code exists (GitHub); there is no record of exploitation in the wild.
- Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days: 1.7% (FIRST EPSS); higher than 77.7% of all records.
- Anyone who can reach it over the internet can trigger it. No account or password is required. A user must open a link or visit a page. No special conditions are required; it is repeatable.
- Fixed version: bolt/bolt (Packagist) 3.7.1.
- Severity is disputed: the assigning authority (CNA) scores it 8.6, NVD 4.3.
Low priority for now. Upgrade to bolt/bolt (Packagist) 3.7.1 or later.

Primary sources: NVD · CVE.org · FIRST EPSS
Bolt CMS before version 3.7.1 lacked CSRF protection in the preview generating endpoint. Previews are intended to be generated by the admins, developers, chief-editors, and editors, who are authorized to create content in the application. But due to lack of proper CSRF protection, unauthorized users could generate a preview. This has been fixed in Bolt 3.7.1
